On 13th September 2023, our donor, the delegation from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited us in Bor and interacted with our project participants of the Just Future Project. The Dutch delegation led by the Ambassador H.E Marjan Schippers and Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Bouwe-Jan Smeding were on a 3-day visit to Bor to witness the programs funded by Dutch Government, including those implemented by UN agencies and other INGOs and national organisations.
With support from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Search for Common Ground in South Sudan, we are implementing the Just Future project in collaboration with other civil society actors in the Just Future Alliance which is led in South Sudan by Cordaid South Sudan. Through this project we strengthen the capacity of local stakeholders to build peaceful, just and politically inclusive communities. We support regular women peace networks, youth peace networks and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to actively engage local authorities on people-centered security, access to justice, and inclusive political decision-making and peace processes. These local networks enhance relationships and trust between the community and duty-bearers, and promote their collaboration on issues affecting the community.
During the donor visit, the participants of these committees met with the Dutch delegation to share their experiences, success stories, and challenges they face in doing their work.
